International students living in Australia need between 1,400 and 2,500 AUD/month to cover all their living expenses, including accommodation, food, and social activities.

Health Insurance

Australia has a special health insurance coverage for international students called Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). OSHC is designed to help international students cover the costs of medical and hospital care that they may need while in Australia. Your insurer will require that you purchase your entire OSHC policy upfront.

The cost of OSHC differs depending on the type of cover required. The lowest cost of minimum cover is AUD$478 for 12 months of singles cover, $2,600 for 12 months of couples cover and $4,200 for 12 months of family cover.
